With more than 20 years experience in marketing, brand content and systems and having now helped thousands of small business owners, I know what it takes to build a business that you can be proud of and that actually aligns with your values, your beliefs and your hopes for the future. So much of our daily life is spent working on and in the businesses and the brands that we are creating and so it makes sense to actually love what you do.

So let's get into this podcast and help you figure out how to love your business and your life on the daily. Hello and welcome to episode 471 of the MyDaily Business Podcast. Today it's a quick tip episode and I am talking about AI tools. So if you are thinking which one should I be on, are there alternatives to ChatGPT? Side note, yes there are. And which one is best? Then stay tuned.

If you want to go through this in text format or find the links to the tools that I'm going to be mentioning, then you can just jump on over to mydailybusiness.com/podcast/471.

This is episode 471, before we get stuck in, I want to mention that I am running an AI chat with small business owners. So it's a monthly zoom call. We come together and we analyse and talk about different AI tools. Now this is a really safe space. You don't have to be into tech. This is also a place that you can just be like, I don't know anything about AI. What should I be doing? And learn from myself and other small business owners as to how they are using AI. We've also just opened a WhatsApp group for this as well so we can chat in between the zoom calls that happen once a month. The next one is happening on the 17th of December 2024. If you're listening in real time, then there'll be one at the end of January and so on. If you want to join that, you can join anytime at mysdailybusiness.com/Aichat that's A I C H A T.

Alright, before we get stuck in, I'm going to of course acknowledge where I'm coming from and acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of these beautiful lands, which I host all of these different programmes and this podcast, and that is the Woiworung and Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. And I pay my respects to their elders, past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. And as we do come to the end of the year, you also want to think, especially if you're in Australia, about what the 26 January means and how we might as a country move forward.

Alright, let's get into today's quick tip episode. I have been a journalist and a writer since 2001. I'm pretty sure it was when my first article got published in a major magazine at the time. And then I had a newspaper column and I've written for all sorts of publications from like Nylon and Monocle and Refinery 29 and cool hunting through to the United Arab Emirates national newspaper and Sunday liftouts in the UK newspaper and Australian newspapers. All sorts of things.

And so when it came to ChatGPT coming onto the market and AI tools, particularly for copywriting and content, I had something I don’t need that, I'm okay at writing, I'm a good writer. I don't really need those sorts of tools, they're cheating. I had all of these things right years ago or two years ago. When did it actually come out? And about a year ago or maybe 18 months ago, I started taking it more seriously at ChatGPT.

But what I found was a different tool called Claude C L A U D E. And I much preferred Claude I so M much. I just preferred it. I don't know what it was. I just felt like it gave me much better answers, much more real and human answers as opposed to super generic. Now I've since been really embracing AI, getting really into it and understanding far more about it. And I'm obsessed with another tool that I literally use every single day.

And you'll be hearing from the co-founder of that tool on Thursday's episode. So make sure you're subscribed because honestly, this tool is blowing my mind. Everyone I've recommended it to who's signed up to it is now like, oh my God, I'm using it every single day. I'm not just using it for my business, I'm using it for all these different parts of my life. There's not been anyone that I've recommended it to who has actually then signed up to it. Who said that was a waste of money or you know, it's just like everyone is blown away. It is blowing every other AI tool out of the water. But for today we're going to talk about what the difference is between Claude and ChatGPT.

So if you are only using ChatGPT, I would urge you to think about using Claude. So Claude is a very similar linear based text based AI tool, much like ChatGPT. You can put documents into it, you can upload PDFs, you can upload word files, Google Docs, et cetera. Oh, Google like the Word Doc in Google Docs. And it very much acts like ChatGPT.

The reason I wanted to call it out is because everyone also hears that used this. And I have to say that this other tool that I'm talking about actually uses ChatGPT, ChatGPT Mini and Claude. All three at once. You can just sort of scroll between them. But when I got even just people from group coaching or you know, other people I was working with to start testing some of the things that they were already doing in ChatGPT into Claude, they got much better results.

And today I thought, you know what, I'm just gonna do it in real time to show you. So let's say I'm using and this is the free version of both of them. I did pay for the Claude AI for a while and then I moved to a different tool that incorporates Claude. So I was like, well, I may as well just pay for this other tool and not Claude separately. So what I'm talking about is Claude.A I. That’s C L A U D E- A I  vs ChatGPT.com in terms of just the free version.

Now, there's lots of other things that happen behind the scenes in terms of the speed at which they can go through documents and everything else. But I just think that Claude is next level in terms of content creation, linear based content questions. I just think it comes across much more like a human. And obviously this is how it's all been powered and structured and set up and the data that it's been fed initially and recurrently by these companies. ChatGPT is like the one that everybody knows. And so I think personally it's very generic in what it feeds you. Obviously you've got to create your own knowledge base and database from which it can pull great content. And I did already do a whole episode on that. I also did an episode on why AI can't replace certain things in your business that I think was episode 453. We'll link to those in the show notes for this one.

But for today I wanted to give you a real example. So I've just gone into both of them and written. This is the prompt. Help me write an intro for a podcast aimed at creative small business owners. Now, I put that exact phrase into ChatGPT and also into Claude. Now let me read what ChatGPT spat out.

Welcome to Creative Hustle, the podcast where big ideas meet small business success. I'm your host and each week we dive into the story strategies and mindset shifts that fuel the entrepreneurial space spirit. If you're a creative at heart, whether you're a maker, designer, artist or dreamer turn doer, ah, this is the place where your passion meets practical advice to help you grow, thrive and build a business that reflects your unique vision. Get ready for a blend of inspiration, actionable tips and real world stories from fellow small business owners who are navigating the exciting and sometimes messy journey. Whether you're just starting out or looking to scale up, we've got something for you. Let's jump in and start turning your Creative Hustle into your dream business.

So it's not so bad. I think I'm a little entrepreneur. However, I haven't given it any context whatsoever. So that's the first one. Not too bad. The word hustle I can't stand. So obviously that's my whole thing, like sidestep, hustle, anti hustle. I have been like that since day one. I don't mind hard work, but I don't like the word hustle. So that's ChatGPT.

Let's have a look at Claude. I haven't looked at these before I hit this. So Claude has written, “Hey there, creative people, I'm your name and I know exactly what it's like to be sitting in your home, office, or, let's be real, your kitchen table, wondering if this whole small business thing is actually going to work out. Some days you're on top of the world, nailing a client project, making a sale, feeling like a total boss. Other days you're drowning in spreadsheets, wondering if you should just go back to a normal job. Trust me, I've been there. This podcast is basically like having a coffee chat with a friend who gets it. We'll swap stories, share real struggles, celebrate the wins big and small, and dig into the nitty gritty of running a creative business. No sugarcoating, no fancy corporate speak, just honest, practical, conversations from one creative entrepreneur to another. If you're feeling both excited and terrified about building something uniquely yours. Come hang out with me. We're in this together.”

And then it says underneath, how's this? This is a, heart to heart conversation and I have aimed to create an inviting, energetic tone, speak directly to the audience, highlight the podcast value proposition, expectations for the content, make it feel personal and motivational. Would you like me to adjust the tone or focus of the intro? So I just feel like it's so much more, I don't know, human. I know that's crazy because re, you know, it's all sort of all powered, you know, it's a bot. Ah, it's an AI tool. However, I just feel like the way it has been set up at Claude, it just delivers such a better response. So that's just one example.

Now, neither of those had context. I was not feeding it something. So if I had fed it, let's say I'd fed it like five transcripts of this podcast and sometimes those transcripts are up to 7,000 words each, then it would have so much more of my tone and so much more of me in order to then create something. But you can see how they are different. And you can also see that if you don't question things, if you don't put in your own data, you can easily just end up sounding incredibly generic and incredibly the same as everybody else that is in your industry.

So this is where my AI Chat really comes into it. We can really discuss things as small business owners as to the ethical part of AI. That was a big discussion in the first chat that we had and looking at everything, including things like how much more power it takes to power AI than say, a normal Google search. And so what does that do to things like the servers and the carbon emissions that come from those servers? So we're really talking about AI and this kind of whole new frontier in a really safe environment for small business owners and many of whom are, in that chat, that don't have a huge volume of staff to give this stuff to. They're trying to figure out AI whilst also just running a business.

So that is it for today. If you are just new to this and you're thinking, oh, ChatGPT is the only one, it's absolutely not 100%. I think Claude is amazing and I just think that, you know, more people should know about it. So Claude.AI, I don't have an affiliate link for this. I should have probably thought about that. But anyway, in Thursday's episode I have an affiliate link and I would love it if you could, use that if you decide to go forward with the AI tool that I'm going to be talking about in Thursday's episode, which has absolutely blown everything else that I've looked at out of the water and I'm using it every single day. It is the best thing that I've invested in in my business in a long, long time.

But you will hear all about that in Thursday's episode, so make sure you are subscribed so you get that straight away.

Alright, I'll talk to you all soon. And again, if you want to go through this in text format, you can find that at mysdailybusiness.com/podcast/471. Thank you so much for listening. I'll see you next time. Bye.
